Crafts: Snowflake Obsession

A few months ago I wrote about my snowflake obsession. Then on Friday, I was reading Stacey's mom's blog, where she posted a link to 3D snowflakes!!! I knew then and there I had to make them. And I did! I hung them over the my dining room table. They even rotate a bit on their own :)

Notes: it's much easier to make a big snowflake than a small one. I made mine from notebook paper. I reinforced the points to which I tied a thread to "unite" one snowflake with another with tape. Being a little anal about cutting and folding and taping carefully pays off!

P.S. Someone actually made a video on how to make these snowflakes!

Hand-Made Holiday Cards

This year I'm not really exchanging any gifts with anyone...maybe I'm a Scrooge, but I just find the whole process rather stressful and more of a money exchange than gift-giving. I still wanted to give people I care about cards though.

I love making cards, and this year made Menorah cards for Hanukkah and Snowflake cards for Christmas/New year. The idea for the cards came from a bib project I did more than a year ago. I still had the 3-D puffy paints leftover, and decided to see if they'd work on paper: they did!

I had a ton of fun making the cards, and hope the recipients will like them just as much.

Happy Holidays, y'all!
