Right...at first I don't post for a month, and then I post two things in the same day. I miss Shadow Sundays, so here's a photo I took at my parents' kitchen today:

I took this photograph weeks ago when I was walking to mentor with Ashley. My setting was on sepia, and I actually really liked it! It's good to finally post something for Shadow Sundays.

Finally I get to post something for Shadow Sundays! I saw this bike around U Street neighborhood and loved its shadow! However, I was too slow and a woman parked in front of it, blocking the sun! I decided to be bold and nicely asked her to move forward just for a few moments: and she did. My friend Theresa pointed out that the seat of the bike looks like a heart :)

Here are a few photographs I took last night at a local yogurt place. Jason told me to breath out while I'm taking a photograph to steady my hand. Looks like it worked! Check out other Shadow Sundays shots.

A few weeks ago Anna and I went over to my friend Radha's apartment for an awesome Indian feast. That's where I took a photograph below for Shadow Sundays.

After brunch at Alero on the 20th, Jason, Theresa and I decided to check out a gallery around Logan Circle in DC. We went to the G Fine Art gallery, where there was a really interesting exhibit by Maggie Michael, All at Once. I thought the shadows cast by these records were really interesting and a perfect fit for Shadow Sundays.




If you are in the neighborhood, definitely check out this exhibit, which runs through January 3, 2009. Also, the same building houses Hemphill gallery and Adamson Gallery, which is where I saw my favorite exhibit that day: Photography by Lawrence Schiller (unfortunately, the exhibit is over on December 20th, but you can see some of his work here.) Below is my favorite photo from the Lawrence exhibit. It's a photo of Joanne Woodward and Paul Newman, taken in LA in 1967. Why do I like it? Because you don't really know the story behind the photograph...all you have (or I have) are questions: why is she sitting on a table? why is he leaning against the table? why are they back to back? did they have a fight? did something horrible happen? I wish I knew the answers!

Shadow Sundays

Here are a few shots I took for Shadow Sundays last week. The shadow is of Laura, my friend from work.

I took these two shots several years ago on my trip to Atlanta with Alyssa. We had a great time and did quite a bit of sightseeing together, but also went out separate ways to see the things that were of interest to one of us, but not to the other.

One such solitary outing for me was the High Museum of Art. I loved the open and clean architecture, the use of glass and white beams. The sun light and the blue color of the sky were able to peak into the building easily and made perfect shadows for Shadow Sundays!
