A Way to Cheer Up: Asters
You know what cheers me up? Flowers! And this week I definitely needed some cheering up. So I bought 2 bouquets of asters and put them together:

Flowers and Sky
This weekend I walked around U-street neighborhood visiting local galleries. There were so many pretty flowers in bloom! Below is a collage of just some of the photographs I took (click to enlarge).
These are a few pictures of an empty carriage house that stood next to one of the galleries. I think this would be an amazing place for a dance studio...if only.
And here is a Buddha I saw at one of the houses.
And here's a picture of me on one of the rocking sculptures.

A Daffodil
It has been a while since I've submitted photos to Today's Flowers. Yesterday, during my Breast cancer training walk, I picked up this gorgeous wild daffodil and carried it all the way home in my pink water bottle. Don't you think it's absolutely gorgeous? I do!

Today's Flowers
This is my entry for the Today's Flowers. How pretty is my Christmas cactus? Love the orange-peach color.
Today I went for an 80 minute walk (training for Avon Walk) and took my camera along. Here is a collage of some gorgeous flowers I found: Spring is definitely in the air! (Click on the photo below to see more details).

Today's Flowers
Here are 4 photos for Today's Flowers. The first two are of the progress of my orchid. The last two are the buds on my Christmas cactus: I'm so excited it will be blooming again. I think there are at least 8 buds!!!

Today's Flowers: The Circle of Life
I think this post represents perfectly the circle of life. The first two photos are of two of my orchids that are ending their circle of life (at least for now...who knows? They might grow a new "spike" and have new blooms). The next series of photos are of my orchid that just started blooming! It's the third time that it is blooming since I've had it. I can't be happier!

Today's Flowers
Here are a few flower photos I took during my vacation in Savannah, GA. The first one is a planter with Swiss Chard growing inside (Thank you to everyone who let me know that it is Swiss Chard and not beets)! Surprisingly, I saw quite a bit of it: some had parsley growing.
The other two photos are of several trees in bloom. For more flower power, check out Today's Flowers.

Flowers from Jason
These are the flowers my friend Jason brought for Anna and me on Friday. LOVE getting flowers. Check out other Today's Flowers.
P.S. Since many of you are so kind to comment that you like the flower arrangement, I thought I'd add that I arranged the flowers myself...my services are available :)

Today's Flowers
Below are two photographs of my plants that are on their way to blooming! The first one is the "Laura orchid," and it's going to be at least a week or two before the flowers will appear. The second photograph is the only bloom I have on my December cactus. Cannot wait till it will start flowering! Check out other beautiful photos on Today's Flowers.
