Last night I went to see Anthony Bourdain speak at the Lissner Auditorium. He ROCKED! Seriously, it's incredible when you think someone is cool and your opinion doesn't change after seeing that person in real life.
He showed some clips from his show, No Reservations, and then discussed different experiences he's had in his travels. He also expressed his hatred of Rachel Ray, Sandra Lee and all vegetarians. The guy has no censor: he says exactly what he thinks. The audience LOVED him! In fact, one woman told him she was in love with him (something I'm sure a lot of us were thinking). Speaking of love, Anthony Bourdain has a 6 month old daughter...who would have thought?
After the discussion he held quite a lengthy Q&A session with questions ranging from what would be his last meal (sushi and beer) to what he thinks about DC food scene (it's getting good). The last question was really touching and dealt with No Reservations episode from Beirut that took place during the Israel-Lebanon conflict. Bourdain was genuinely saddened and touched by his experience during that time and said he will definitely go back and finish shooting the episode in the future.
Needless to say, I'm still enamored with Anthony Bourdain. This was a great event!!!!
