My original plan was to make red lentils Indian style tonight (with ginger and cumin seeds), but my stomach was pretty vocal against it. Instead, I decided to make mashed potatoes.
Unfortunately, the milk in my refrigerator had an expiration date of 1/1/08, and I was too scared to use it. Thus, I made mashed potatoes Russian style: boil and mash the potatoes with butter and top with sauteed mushrooms (I used marinated mushrooms from a jar) and onions (also sauteed); sprinkle with parsley.
