I'm writing this in Marriott in Savannah, GA. In a few minutes I'll take a cab back to the airport to fly back to DC. Yes, as a zillion people flew into DC this weekend for Obama's Inauguration, I flew out and spent 3 days in Savannah, GA.
Things started off on a bad note and ended on a sad note, but everything in between was great. Sorry, you'll have to wait for all the fun parts.
As I was getting ready to board my flight from Atlanta to Savannah, I looked down on my hands and got a sick feeling in my stomach: one of my favorite silver rings was missing from my finger! I went back and checked the bathroom, the counter of Nathan's Hotdogs and looked around the area where I was sitting, but nothing. It was gone! I honestly began to cry. I called the Lost & Found several times, but alas they had nothing. I'm hoping that the gallery where I bought the ring more than a year ago (the same gallery where I'm displaying my photographs this month) will still be selling the same rings, and I'm hoping their price did not go up too much (as it is, they were $100). In order to mitigate (big GRE word!) my sadness, I bought a stack of silver rings in Banana Republic, a pendant matching the earrings from San Francisco at a museum, and another pair of earrings at a local jewelry store. [Pictures of the jewelry coming up soon.]
And then today, just as I walking into the hotel to pick up my bag and head back to the airport, I realized that I somehow, somewhere lost my camera case! UGH! I'm frustrated beyond belief!!! But at least I still have my camera, and my wallet, and my credit cards, and my head on my shoulders (thankfully, it's attached!).
Ok, here's hoping that nothing else gets lost as I travel back to DC.
Check in later for the updates on the fun I've had in Savannah, and check out Mango & Tomato in the next few days to see all the food I ate in Savannah (there was a lot of food)!

Evan though you lost your ring, it sounds like you got some neat stuff. :) I once lost my earring down a sink. Hope you have a safe trip back and I can't wait to see all the food pics!
I feel for you, I had a pair of gold hoop earrings that I just LOVED and I wore them all the time. About a month ago, I wore them to work and after lunch I noticed that one of them was gone. I was heartbroken. I too re-traced my steps to no avail. The earrings were given to me by my kids a few years ago and I can't find any like them anywhere.
My fingers are crossed for you though...and I hope you can find another ring.
By the way, as always....I just love the pictures you post. You have a great eye for photography.
yeah sorry about losing anything. i honestly thought it would be me to loose stuff! can't wait to see the reviews of the restaurants we ate at and i'll share with you my blog of the bus ride down :)
